Habakukk 2:4 is very clear.  The just shall live by His faith.  It means faith in God here not faith in a ‘higher being’.  Faith in Jehovah.

There are many things that scare me on a daily basis.  But they are not the basis of the decisions I am making in my everyday life.  I choose to believe what God has promised me, that everything my hands find to do shall prosper.  Not fail.  Therefore I live by my faith in God’s ability and willingness to make that promise happen.

I do not live by my fear.  I live by my faith.  Not my mother’s faith, my wife’s faith or my Pastor’s faith (God bless his darling heart).

Its that simple.
