Thanks for the mention! I think you bring up a great point here between "doing" and "being" social. I've found it's usually pretty easy to sense the difference when interacting with someone "doing" social vs. showing a genuine interest.

Hallelujah bro. This is a simple fact of life that unfortunately we hardly ever remember until we're in hot soup, or tired, sticky porridge. Then we dare ask ourselves - "aiiiii, kwani?" Or engage in a fitful 'woe is me' session.This is good disruption... I like!

Here's my random two cents:

A miracle is what God does that you couldn't pull off if you tried. To be grateful and avoid the pitfalls of forgetting his goodness day to day and always looking for more. To have a heart that is both grateful and expectant. God is doing so much daily that we take no notice of and the few bangs here and there that we notice should be a reminder of his constancy and mercy towards us. Try keeping yourself alive one of these days and see all the details involved in that little feat. He also gives rain to the wicked and the righteous...and she that was forgiven much loved much....And which is easier, to say thy sins be forgiven thee or rise, take up thy bed and walk? And where could I go away from his presence...he is always there...

@maroa Those are questions half of which even the current officers at the City Council cannot answer :) But, you can check out this wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uhuru_Park
Someone actually set up a website dedicated to it at http://www.uhurupark.com but you won't find anything useful there.

When confronted by a situation such as discussed above recently, I just thought to myself...'man I'm growing old'. I'm the sort of 'Sunday Christian' only involved in matters relating to church on Sundays ..... and until ...the following Sunday.

My take is ...I wouldn't challenge a man of God ..... can't explain why. I would raise a matter of concern with others 'at that level'for them to handle. And if indeed the servant is in error he/she should be restored with gentless, lest they 'get lost' in the process.

Was made an ORIGINAL, why go back an imitation?

First of all i feel 'cookie cutter christians are a dime a dozen' is an intro i would like to hear when the preacher starts his thing(its more like betty botter bought some butter...). i dont know why i decided to check what is on muchiri.com this morning but i guess it one of those things God leads you to when you let go and let God ama? nway this applies so much about what we were discussing jana.

Suprising enough those people who want us to be an extension of them do not notice what they are doing until this other person is completely lost and most of the time the latter gets so stressed and do extremes - all they ever want was just to be like(as you say) Apostle so-and-so.They lose who they were to be in the beginning, and it gets worse when the one they are following loses direction.

I think it is important for both the leaders and the ones being led to know themselves and what there position in this world is(ok that is hard at times but hey at least we can have a breather coz our hope and our all is in He who knows it all). These two weeks(after the retreat) i have been saying the serenity prayer because i was made an original, why should i go back before God as an imitation?

You know about the serenity prayer;

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

Blessings.
